Canteen Bandanna Week
Helping give support to young adults with cancer nationwide is a great thing to do. With every CanTeen bandanna we buy, four dollars is raised. With any donations we make, more money is raised and goes towards reaching CanTeen's ultimate goal: to aid those with cancer.
‘Our mission is to support develop and empower young people living with cancer through a national peer support network, and professional educational and recreational programmes.'
On Wednesday 27th October, the third day of Bandanna Week, Silver Fern Maria Tutaia who is a CanTeen ambassador, as well ask Kimberley and Saki, visited our school to talk about CanTeen and supporting those with cancer. When they finished speaking, some people stood up to ask questions about her achievements in netball at the Commonwealth Games 2010 as well as with CanTeen. We all had a fantastic time listening to an inspirational role model. We also took class photos with Maria which were awesome, especially since she had so many fans!
Thank you to all those people who have helped support adolescents with cancer by buying a bandanna or donating to CanTeen.
Just a small amount of money makes a difference to someone living with cancer!
