Welcome back to term 2!
I hope you had a lovely holiday and are all refreshed ready for the term.
Topic – We look at ‘ What’s under my skin. We are learning about how different actions effect what is underneath our skin. The children will understand how and why we need to look after ourselves through healthy eating, exercise and protecting our own body. Students will understand how their Hauora works as their overall well being.
Physical Education – Our focus for syndicate sport is large ball skills, e.g. Basketball, Netball and Soccer. This is also integrated with syndicate sport.
Reading - Each night the children must take home a book in their book bag. This could be
1. The book we have read in class today.
2. One chosen from the pick and mix box.
Writing- We are learning about procedural writing. We will integrate this with our topic writing. We will complete a range of different hands on learning experiences including cooking this will help with the real life context and breaking down the structure.
Maths – We will continue to develop our Addition and Subtraction Number Knowledge. In strand we look at Geometry which includes, shapes, position and orientation and transformation.
Art – We look at the different types of collage looking closely as the artwork of ‘ The Hungry Caterpiller.
Drama – Developing confidence and exploring different ways in which we can implement drama in different learning situations. Children will learn a range of drama games
