Term 4 is here and we are ready for it all…
Important messages for whanau (Week 5):

- Thank you for all the cans of pet food for the SPCA!!!!
So what’s installed for Room 19 in Term 4???
We are launching straight into our fantastic Integrated Topic called Making Positive Choices. We will be using a range of Fairy Tales and Myths & Legends to support our learning. We are also very excited to be using SOLO Taxonomy to support and extend our thinking.
Once a week for Strand Maths we are focussing on Measurement. We will be doing lots of cool things and even growing our own beanstalks to measure!!! We should all be very proud of how much we have progressed in Numeracy this year so far and we are excited about what we are going to learn in Term 4. We will be having a look at Multiplication and Division and will keep on working hard on our Basic Facts to support all the clever strategies we are learning.
Comprehension is a continued focus for Reading. Questions, questions, questions is hugely important during any reading time for all of us. To help with our writing we will be reading heaps of Poetry too!!!
Room 19 authors are super excited to be diving into Poetry this term. We will be writing our own Acrostic, Alliteration, Shape, and many more types of poetry. We will also be learning about that wonderful word Onomatopoeia (sound words)!!!!
We are so lucky to have Nancy in Room 19 once a week expertly helping us our with our Te Reo Maori. We are also going to be learning to ask and reply to questions about how we are feeling. Ka pai!!!
Wihoo summer is here and we will be High Jumping, Long Jumping, Shotput-ing, and Relay-ing our way through the Term with Athletics. Keep your ears to the ground about upcoming details regarding Athletics Day in Week 5. We would love to see you there cheering on the students!
Our Arts focus in Term 4 is Dance. We will be moving to music, poems, stories, and well just about anything!
