Welcome to Miss Latham’s Class!

What's in store for Term 2?

What an exciting term we've got lined up! Our topic this term is Ancient Egypt. This means we will get to experience what life was like in an important period in history and how it compares to our lives today. This topic will require the children to do their own research and presentations, as well as learning from the teacher, others in the class and even partaking in a Year 5 Egyptian Day! Awesome! :-)

Our literacy work this term is all about fantasy stories! It will require the children to develop and explain their active imaginations using a range of literary techiniques and accurate story structure. The stories can contain 'fantastical' settings, characters or both. Exciting!

We will be learning each of the 6 maths strategies in detail this term and, most importantly, WHEN the right time is to use each one. This will be hard, but super-important!

Reports are due to go out at the end of this term, so Miss Latham will be looking at everyone's work and behaviour carefully as the weeks go by!

Room 8's Spelling Words!

Everyone was tested on spelling in week 1 of this term and now has 10 weekly spelling words to learn that match the spelling rules that they did not know.
