What's on this term.....

Topic/Integrated - Students begin the term sailing through their days at school by taking part in the Waterwise programme. There is a huge focus on challenging ones self and giving everything a go!

Reading - Students are currently in provisional reading groups, until they are retested in Weeks 5 and 6. Reading skills this term will focus on continuing to practice using a number of known strategies to read, enhance vocabulary and develop a greater level of comprehension and meaning in the texts students read.

Writing - Writing this term will move between recount/ reflective writing integrated into our Waterwise experiences and Poetic Writing, which will begin in Week 6.  We will be looking at the processes and strategies, purposes and audiences, ideas, language features and structures of these specific writing types.

Maths - We will begin the term with Number (Addition and Subtraction) This will continue with the development and use of Addition/Subtraction strategies and building on student's number knowledge. We will then be then finishing the term off with Statistics Strand.

Physical Education -  P.E this term will concentrate on swimming in the school pool, before moving on to small ball skills, of which will be reinforced during syndicate sports onj a Friday.

I.C.T - Students will be continuing to build on and develop their computer skills as well as develop their ability to use digital cameras and video cameras to record their learning experiences. Becoming more confident in using Knowledge Net to record and display their learning experiences will also be a key focus for this term.
