Term Four 2011
What's on this term.....
Topic/Integrated - Students will be looking at the action and reactions in the world around us. this topic has a chemistry/ science base.
Reading - Reading
skills this term will focus on continuing to practice using a number
of known strategies to decode words and develop a greater level of
comprehension and meaning in the texts students read.
Writing - Writing
this term will move between Poetry Writing and Procedural writing to tie in with our integrated topic. We
will be looking at the processes and strategies, purposes and audiences,
ideas, language features and structures of these specific writing
types.
Maths - We will begin the term continuing with Number (Addition and Subtraction) This will continue with the development
and use of Addition/Subtraction strategies and building on student's
number knowledge. We will then be moving onto Number (Multiplication)
then finishing the term off with Measurement Strand.
Physical Education - P.E
this term will concentrate on building and developing students skills
and knowledge in athletics (High Jump, Long Jump, Soft ball throw, sprints and relays)
I.C.T - Students
will be continuing to build on and develop their basic computer skills
as well as develop their ability to use digital cameras and video
cameras to record their learning experiences. Becoming more confident in
using Knowledge Net to record and display their learning experiences
will also be a key focus for this term.
